A dog, after being rescued, experiences hunger pains that drive it to nonstop eating.
Our VK group recently shared a heart-wrenching video of a malnourished dog being shooed away by passersby. Upon seeing this, we knew we had to take action and rescue her.
We arrived at the location during lunchtime but unfortunately couldn’t locate her. Undeterred, we continued our search by speaking with locals, who informed us that the dog wasn’t from the area.
After persisting, a man revealed to us that he had spotted the dog a day earlier. He explained that someone had abandoned her there, and she had been scavenging for food in the garbage for a week, sometimes resorting to stealing from others. This explained why people had shooed her away.
The kind man provided her with food and showed us the direction where he had last seen her. After several hours of searching, we finally found her at around 3:00 PM.
Our hearts were shattered when we laid eyes on her. Since was emaciated and was using every ounce of strength to eat the chicken we provided her. We named her “Since” as she had been unseen until now.
She had been eating nonstop since we found her, driven by the intense hunger she had been experiencing. We scheduled a vet appointment for the following day without delay.
At the vet’s office, Since was terrified and cried incessantly. We comforted her, trimmed her nails, and did our best to make her feel at ease. However, we discovered that she had been neglected for a minimum of eight months. Her nails were overgrown, and she was experiencing uterine bleeding, which we could not determine the cause of. It was unclear if she had cancer or if she had been the victim of sexual abuse. To get to the bottom of it, we had to take an X-ray. However, our priority was to stop the bleeding and provide her with appropriate treatment.
Since’s treatment was arduous, and the pain she endured was indescribable. Nonetheless, she displayed incredible bravery, and the following day, we received some positive news. Her cancer test came back negative, and her health was improving. While she still required hospitalization for a few more days, we were optimistic that she would make a full recovery.
After spending ten days at the vet, Since was finally back with us. She remained thin, but at least she was now safe under our care. However, she struggled with the cold, so we dressed her in warm clothes.
Despite her condition, her treatment was progressing well, and we were grateful for this progress. Although she still had a long road ahead of her, we were determined to support her in every way possible. We asked everyone to pray for her and offer support as we journeyed forward.
In conclusion, Since’s story serves as a poignant reminder of the dire situation that many street animals face and the urgent need to provide them with aid. Left neglected, abused, and abandoned, they require our care and support to survive.
It is crucial to demonstrate kindness towards animals and provide assistance whenever we can. By working together, we can make a difference and ensure that all animals receive the care and compassion they deserve.
