Antonio, an animal lover, lost his pit bull to cancer and decided to honor its memory by dedicating his life to caring for abandoned dogs. He purchased a plot of land where he could provide a home for rescued dogs.
Leaving his job, Antonio prepared the land to accommodate the most vulnerable puppies. He took to the streets, spending nights outdoors to find abandoned dogs in need of rescue. Eventually, he took in 800 dogs and continues to provide them with food, shelter, and care.
Caring for such a large number of stray dogs is undoubtedly a huge undertaking, and it’s important to remember that feeding alone is not enough to ensure the well-being of these dogs. Providing proper medical care, shelter, and a safe environment are also essential to their ongoing health and happiness.
The dogs consume 200 kilograms of food each day, in addition to medical supplies and medications, requiring the help of two employees and a cook to prepare their meals. Despite the enormous burden, Antonio says that he has no regrets about his decision to care for abandoned dogs.
